Doshisha

Ceremony held earlier in September.
Dean
Fujiwara extended heartfelt congratulations to all graduates, emphasizing the

【Name of Scholarship】 (2025 Entry) MEXT University Recommendation Yusen Haichi Scholarship Program
【Scholarship Amount】 1.Full Tuition for two years (1,372,000 yen) 2.Full Facilities Fee for two years (264,000 yen) 3.Monthly allowance (144,000 yen) 4.Travel expenses for flight to Japan and flight to home country after graduation
【Number of acceptance】 4 students
【Eligibility】 1. Must hold citizenship in following countries: (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Moldova, Turkmenistan)
2. Must be born on and after April 2, 1990
3. Not a recipient of any MEXT scholarship in the past (There are some exceptions, please consult the Doshisha Business School office)
4. Not currently being recommended for a MEXT scholarship through any other university
5. Must have an outstanding academic record
6. Must be willing and able to enroll in Global Business and Management Studies at Doshisha Business School from September 2025 (for two years)
7. Not intending to engage in long time fieldwork or internships outside of Japan during enrollment or planning to take a leave of absence
8. Not being veteran or civilian employees
9.【For those who are in overseas】 Must obtain “Student (留学)” visa status before arriving Japan and enter Japan with newly obtained “Student (留学)” visa 【For those who are currently in Japan】 Must obtain “Student (留学)” visa status by the beginning of program
10. Must be able to submit a complete Formal Application documents to Global Business and Management Studies at Doshisha Business School by February 4
11. Understand that while Doshisha Business School seeks to select candidates it can recommend with confidence for the scholarship, the final and official scholarship decision is made by MEXT and will be announced in June 2025
12. Understand that paying the required fees during the application process (application fee and the initial registration fee) by the indicated deadlines is the responsibility of the applicant and that, if selected as a final scholarship candidate by DBS and formally approved for the scholarship by MEXT, these fees will be refunded after arrival in Japan
13. Those who are currently live in Japan can also apply

A guest lecture session on Peter F. Drucker was held on November 22nd, as part of classes of “Japanese Business Practices”, taught by Prof. Etsuaki Yoshida at Doshisha Business School’s Global Management Studies Program. A renowned economic journalist, Mr. Akira Kojima that long worked for the Nikkei newspaper, spoke in English on the great management professor, based on his direct contact and long friendship with Prof. Drucker. Mr. Kojima, the author of the book titled “Kyoyo toshiteno Drucker” (in Japanese), explained the Drucker’s exact insights on how we should view firms with some implications to Japan.The session was opened to other Doshisha University communities and well-attended by various types of audiences.

Fri, 29 Mar 2024 19:53:37 +0900Joined the "Online Study-in-Japan Fair for Latin America", and more.
The global program of Doshisha Business School (DBS) attended a virtual event, "Online Study in Japan Fair for Latin America", which was held last month. It was composed of the plenary live presentations by each school in Japan, as well as the“consultation booth”offered by each participating institution.
Roughly 40 universities/language schools from Japan joined the event according to the organizer, and the live presentation session on YouTube was viewed by more than 3,000 participants globally.
DBS has welcomed more than 400 students from 92 countries since its establishment of the global course in 2004. Joining this event is expected to contribute to expanding and enriching this global landscape of the program.

Doshisha Business School (DBS, Graduate School of Business) has obtained international accreditation for its MBA program from AMBA (The Association of MBAs: United Kingdom) on October 18, 2023. Established in 1967 in the UK, AMBA is one of the three most prestigious international accreditation bodies in the world, alongside AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business: United States) and EFMD (The European Foundation for Management Development: Belgium). As of October 2023, only about 2% of business schools worldwide, totaling 305 schools, have obtained international accreditation from AMBA. This achievement by Doshisha Business School marks only the fourth Business School in Japan to achieve AMBA accreditation, also making it the first AMBA accredited Business School in the Kansai region. Doshisha Business School (DBS) has formally established its world-class educational quality and research activities through the accreditation evaluation process by such a respected international third party. This international accreditation certifies that the education provided by DBS embodies the spirit of conscientious education and leverages the wisdom that blends Kyoto's tradition and innovation, nurturing leaders possessing high levels of integrity who can also contribute to the sustainable development of economies and societies globally. DBS will continue to utilize AMBA's global network to constantly improve the quality of education that is offered and aim to continue to improve the value that it provides to its students and alumni.
