Admissions Events

We offer two types of admissions events, in-person events and online events (webinars).

In-Person Events
Meet us in-person at one of our events on campus at Doshisha University or at locations in Osaka or Tokyo. On-campus events include information sessions and open class sessions. We occasionally offer overseas information sessions as well.

  • School Visits
We welcome prospective students to visit our campus. If you would like to visit, please contact us in advance to set up an appointment. Please note that we can only accommodate visitors during Doshisha Business School office hours.

Our webinars are online sessions that prospective students can view from anywhere in the world. Learn about the Global MBA by joining one of these sessions.

In-Person Events

During the admissions cycle we offer in-person events in Japan in Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo and hold occasional information sessions overseas.

MBA Introductory Lecture Series

MBA Introductory Lecture Series
The MBA Introductory Lecture Series offers anyone the opportunity to learn about fundamental business topics from Doshisha Business School faculty members. Starting in April, lectures in this series will be held regularly on Sundays until early August. Many of the lectures will be in Japanese, but the following lectures by Doshisha Global MBA faculty members will be in English.

All lectures in the series are free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required.

Lunch Talk for Doshisha Students: 海外で働くとは?
We will hold a bilingual (Japanese and English) seminar for Doshisha students on June 19 (Wed.) from 10:45-13:00 exploring the topic of working abroad. Associate Professor Okudaira will moderate this session and international students studying at Doshisha Business School in the Global MBA program will be present to share their experiences and participate in discussion. Pre-recorded Mini-Lectures

Mini-Lecture: Introduction to Financial Accounting
Presented by Assoc. Prof. Bishnu Adhikary (Learn more about Dr. Adhikary here)
This short lecture explores the basics of financial accounting, a foundational topic in any MBA program. In this lecture, students will learn some basic theories first before jumping into the mechanics of recording transactions. Then, they will be guided through a flowchart showing the topics that are covered in the course. In this flowchart, students can discover at a glance what they will learn step-by-step and how topics connect to one another. Finally, students will see another flowchart that clearly illustrates the process of analyzing financial statements.

Mini-Lecture: Introduction to Investment

This lecture covers a short introduction to investment by Doshisha Global MBA faculty member, Assoc. Prof. Ming Liu. This lecture demonstrates how trades occur in the stock market, the differences between limit order and market order, and the characteristics that define a good stock market.
