Seminar on Sustainable Innovation Leadership by R&I Director at Danone Japan

Updated Jun. 4, 2019
Doshisha Business School was honored to invite Mr. Duc Nguyen, Director of Research and Innovation at Danone Japan, to our campus to explore the topic of sustainability from the perspective of one of the world's leading companies in this area. Mr. Nguyen introduced students to the history of Danone, the state of competition within the Japanese market, and the many new innovations that they have launched in order to grow their position, stature, and brand. Mr. Nguyen also led students through a brainstorming exercise used by his team at Danone to chart out potential developments within markets over 5, 20, and 50 years.

Mr. Nguyen finished his lecture by introducing students to one major failure and one huge success that he has personally championed within the Japanese market. Mr. Nguyen left time for a variety of questions for students, and overall we were able to learn not only about the Danone business, innovation, and sustainability efforts, but also how a company and its leadership team can help guide beneficial new innovations into a market and evolve with customers over time.

On behalf of everyone here at Doshisha Business School we'd like to extend our warm thanks and appreciation to Mr. Nguyen and the entire Danone leadership team for helping to make such a positive contribution to our program.
