The Nobuo Tateishi Scholarship is offered to talented international students studying in the Graduate School of Business here at Doshisha University. This scholarship is funded by a generous donation to Doshisha Business School from Mr. Nobuo Tateishi, former president of OMRON Corporation. An award ceremony was held on May 30, 2018, and was attended by scholarship recipients, Doshisha Business School faculty members, and Dr. Eiji Hatta (Chancellor and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of The Doshisha).
This year the scholarship award was given to two Global MBA (Global Business and Management Studies) students: Tram Mai Ho and Anh Xuan Tuan Vo.
The ceremony was opened by Chancellor and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of The Doshisha, Dr. Eiji Hatta.
After receiving award certificates from Dr. Hatta, each scholarship recipient expressed their appreciation for Mr. Tateishi's generosity and spoke briefly on why they chose to attend Doshisha Business School and their goals during and after their studies. The ceremony concluded with Dean Kuramoto, Professor Yin, and Professor Murayama expressing their sincere appreciation for Mr. Tateishi's continued contributions to Doshisha Business School. Professor Murayama also took the opportunity to introduce Mr. Tateishi's background for the scholarship participants, informing them of Mr. Tateishi's experience as a student at Columbia Business School and his personal commitment to offering support for international students in Japan.
We would like to thank Mr. Tateishi for his very kind donation and continuous support. Scholarship opportunities such as this help our international students enjoy a meaningful learning experience at Doshisha Business School.
