Hiroko Okudaira

Professor Hiroko Okudaira

Biography
Before joining Doshisha Business School in 2018, Dr. Okudaira taught at Okayama University in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences from 2009 and served as Senior Research Associate at University College London as a JSPS Fellow (2015-2016).
From data analysis of extensive government statistics to experiments using her expertise in behavioral economics, Dr. Okudaira approaches and engages in empirical analysis from a variety of angles. Recent publications include: “The Economic Costs of Court Decisions Concerning Dismissals in Japan: Identification by Judge Transfers”, International Review of Law and Economics, forthcoming. “Older Sisters and Younger Brothers: The Impact of Siblings on Preferences for Competition” (with Y. Kinari, N. Mizutani, F. Ohtake, A. Kawaguchi), Personality and Individual Differences, 2015.
