Economics and Management in Pacific Asia
Emeritus Professor of Economics and Management of Pacific Asia at Erasmus University Rotterdam, he is currently professor of Management of Technology and Japan at the University of Twente. He studied at Leiden University, Keio University in Tokyo and holds a Ph.D. in economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Since 1972 he has taught at the Faculty of Economics of Erasmus University and was engaged in international comparative research of organization and management of Asian enterprises. His current research focus is the analysis of industrial development and innovation, comparing Europe with Asia (Japan, Korea and China). He is past-president of the Euro-Asia Management Studies Association, EAMSA, and has been director of the Rotterdam Institute of Modern Asian Studies of Erasmus University. He is also currently a board member of various international scientific associations and advisory bodies on Japan and East Asia.
