Career

Prior to joining DBS, Dr. Staples was a Associate Professor of Business and Economics at Kansai University of Foreign Languages in Osaka, Japan, and previously a Lecturer in Japanese Studies at the School of East Asian Studies, University of Sheffield, U.K., where he gained his Ph.D. His recent publication is titled Responses to Regionalism: Japanese Production Networks in the Automotive Sector (Palgrave, 2008) and he is currently engaged in research on inward investment and structural reform in Japan.
