2017 Nobuo Tateishi Scholarship Award Ceremony

Updated May 17, 2017
The Nobuo Tateishi Scholarship is offered to talented international students studying in the Graduate School of Business here at Doshisha University. This scholarship is funded by a generous donation to Doshisha Business School from Mr. Nobuo Tateishi, former president of OMRON Corporation. An award ceremony was held on May 16, 2017, and was attended by scholarship recipients, Doshisha Business School faculty members, Dr. Eiji Hatta (Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Doshisha), and Mr. Nobuo Tateishi himself.

This year the scholarship award was given to four Global MBA (Global Business and Management Studies) students: Richard Chesser, Yang Zhang, Phuong Minh Nguyen, and Nguyen Duc Tran.

The ceremony was opened by Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Doshisha, Dr. Eiji Hatta.

After receiving award certificates from Mr. Tateishi, each scholarship recipient expressed their appreciation to Mr. Tateishi for his generosity and spoke briefly on why they chose to attend Doshisha Business School and their goals during and after their studies. The ceremony concluded with Dean Kuramoto, Professor Yin, and Associate Professor Johns expressing their sincere appreciation to Mr. Tateishi for his continued contributions to Doshisha Business School.

We would like to thank Mr. Tateishi for his very kind donation and continuous support.
Scholarship opportunities such as this help our international students enjoy a meaningful learning experience at Doshisha Business School.
