Scholarships are allocated to each period of recruitment and applicants seeking financial support are advised to apply at their earliest convenience as some funding opportunities may not be available later in the application period. Assessment and selection is made based upon past academic/professional performance and/or the financial need of applicants.
Mr. Tateisi Nobuo is an Executive Advisor to the Omron Corporation which is based in Kyoto and with whom DBS has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship. Mr. Tateisi’s generous donation is designed to support the activities of the business school and promote international exchange.
Awarded to outstanding international students, this scholarship provides a TWO YEAR FEE WAIVER for TWO candidates for 2010 entry. This scholarship is worth approximately 1,900,000 yen (approximately $21,000 at prevailing rates). Holders of this scholarship are exempt from the fixed tuition fee and the credit tuition fee but will be required to pay the initial registration fee (280,000 yen) and the fee for educational support (440,000 in four semester installments). The deadline for applicants wishing to be considered for this scholarship is May 31st 2010.
In line with the vision of the Global 30 initiative, the Japanese government is offering a TWO YEAR FULL FEE WAIVER to TWO candidates for 2010 entry. This scholarship covers all tuition fees, return travel to Japan and a monthly stipend of approximately 105,000 yen for the two year period. This is a prestigious scholarship and candidates are recommended directly by the business school. Candidates must be under 35 years of age and certain other conditions apply. Reflecting Doshisha University’s continuing commitment as a Global 30 institution, we are delighted to be able to offer a ONE YEAR MONTHLY STIPEND to TEN candidates for 2010 entry. This stipend is worth 66,000 yen per month/792,000 yen in total over 12 months (approximately $8,800 at prevailing rates). The deadline for applicants wishing to be considered for this scholarship is MARCH 31st 2010.
This Doshisha University initiative offers a 30% REDUCTION ON TUITION FEES (Fixed Tuition Fee and Credit Tuition Fee) worth approximately $8,500 for students holding a "College Student" visa.
Subject to confirmation of funding, we plan to offer several RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS (RA) to GMBA students holding a "College Student" visa amounting to 80,000 yen/$842 per month. RAs conduct duties in support of research activities under the direct supervision of faculty members.
In line with our guiding vision, we are happy to introduce GMBA students to local firms in pursuit of part-time jobs and hands-on experience within Japanese firms. Certain visa conditions must be met.
